Karl Scheibmaier, music manager, promoter, organizer and discoverer of numerous local acts, is dead. This was confirmed to the APA on Thursday from those around him who died at the age of 79. Scheibmaier has been an integral part of the local cultural scene since the 1970s. During his career, he discovered Ludwig Hirsch and Rainhard Fendrich, managed STS, organized the festival stage for Vienna’s Danube Island Festival and co-founded the talk show “Vera” on ORF.
