Slayer, one of the most important metal groups, returns to concerts. The band announced two concerts on its website and social media.
Music media and fans of hard music write about their surprise at the band’s declaration. In 2019, after nearly four decades of playing, Slayer announced their discontinuation. In the same year, the group also played a farewell tour. Meanwhile, on Wednesday afternoon, information appeared on the band’s official social media profiles and on its official website: “It will hit you when you least expect it,” the musicians wrote, adding the dates of two September festivals – Riot Fest in Chicago and Louder Than Life in Louisville .

Slayer returns to the stage
The New Musical Express music portal reminds that until recently a reunion of the group’s members seemed unlikely. The band’s guitarist Kerry King announced a solo album and concerts (at the beginning of June he will be one of the guests of the Mystic Festival in Gdańsk), and in an interview for Rolling Stone magazine he admitted that he had not spoken to Slayer’s co-founder – vocalist and bassist Tom Araya for a long time. the group’s last concert. However, the latest announcement leaves no doubt. “Nothing compares to 90 minutes on stage, when we play live and share this intense energy with our fans,” writes Araya in a statement quoted by Revolver magazine. “To be honest, we missed it.” And Kerry King adds: “Did I miss playing live? Absolutely. Slayer means a lot to our fans, but also to us. We haven’t seen them for five years.”
According to the media, Slayer is to perform in the same line-up that left it in 2019 – with Araya and King, guitarist Gary Holt (also known from the group Exodus) and Paul Bostaph on drums. The group’s fans reacted enthusiastically to the declaration of the Slayer members. “When the world needs them most, they come back,” they comment, referring to the band’s post. Others, however, are ironic: “These are our farewell performances. See you next year.”
Formed in 1981, Slayer is one of the most important rock and metal groups in history. The American group is included in the so-called the big four of thrash metal – with Metallica, Anthrax and Megadeth.
