For some time, several Guinean artists have continued to perform music expressing support for the transitional president. This reality continues to cause a lot of ink to flow in the city, but certain political actors have not remained indifferent.
The issue was also discussed during a Union Sacrée press conference in Conakry. The interim president of modern Guinea severely condemned the actions of these artists, who, according to him, were seeking favors from the head of the military junta.
“We strongly condemn this attitude and this form of support is not praiseworthy. We call them agitators. Composing songs for someone is not prohibited, but we cannot allow ourselves to do anything that harms public opinion. Especially when the person you are supporting has not even announced that he or she will be a candidate. We must stop this support and wait until the person himself or herself announces his or her support for them.”
