Caracas.- The case of the Dominican adolescent emerald richiez, 16-year-old, runs its course. This week it became known that the young woman died of hemorrhagic shock caused by a vaginal tearaccording to the preliminary report of the autopsy made by the National Institute of Forensic Pathology Doctor Sergio Sarita Valdez.
The event caused a stir in the Dominican Republic and countries in the region because it was known that the young he bled to death in the bathroom of his house on February 12 after arriving from a walk with three friends, her math teacher, identified as John Kelly Martínez, and a cousin of his named Rubén Morillo.
Mother’s testimony
Speaking to the news network CNN On February 21, the victim’s mother said that she gave her daughter permission to go out because she was with a teacher. However, after Esmeralda’s death, he regrets having given the trust to Martínez.

In an excerpt from his testimony, he commented on what the moment was when he found his dead daughter. “In the morning when I got up, I found my daughter thrown away. My daughter bled to death, she lost all her blood. My daughter was lying in the bathroom, covered in blood,” she said through tears.
While the father of the minor, Eligio Richiez, provided a similar story. He said that at 6:30 am they opened the bedroom door and saw the bed covered in blood, then they went to the bathroom and found her face down on the floor. The express: “Oh, Virgin of Altagracia, our girl died.”
The mother also commented that when her daughter arrived from the supposed walk she noticed her strange, she even believed that they had drugged because he looked at her pale. However, the minor assured that she had nothing. The next day she was already dead.
Forensic report and the suspect, john kelly martinez
According to the forensic report, which may change because the acquaintance is preliminary, the young woman’s body had lacerations, abrasions and bruises that caused her death, due to vaginal tearing, with severe acute external and internal bleeding and hemorrhagic shock.
However, forensic pathology expert Sergio Sarita Valdez points out that the report presented lacks details to reach a conclusion. The data that is known, up to now, is preliminary; they could be modified if new evidence emerges, so a final report is awaited.
On the other hand, the autopsy was not carried out by the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (Inacif), since it was not reported as a violent death.
The main suspect in the death of the young student is the teacher John Kelly Martinez, who is pretrial detention since February 20. He must remain in the Anamuya prison while the legal process ends and the degree of his responsibility in the death of the young woman is determined.
