The reimbursement by Social Security of eight sessions with the psychologist for all French people, announced in September by Emmanuel Macron, comes into force on April 5.

Who is concerned ?
The “MonPsy” device is aimed at French people suffering from depressive and anxiety disorders of “mild to moderate” intensity, according to the platform. But in the event of “suicidal risks” or appearances of “more severe” disorders, the ministry specifies that the patient will be “directed towards more specialized care”. “My Psy” is intended for all people “over 3 years old.
This “considerable progress for access to psychological and psychic care” will “concern tens, hundreds of thousands of French people”, whose costs will be covered “by the common law system, that is to say health insurance and complementary health insurance”, detailed the Minister of Health on March 16 on franceinfo.
How it works ?
About 1,000 “volunteer” practitioners will be referenced on the site monpsy.sante.gouv.fr at the time of the launch, indicated in mid-March the Minister of Health Olivier Véran.

Support will take the form of a package several consultations, renewable if necessary, provided you have a medical prescription. If necessary, patients can benefit from support from a maximum of eight sessions per year with a psychologist. According to the text published in the Official Journal, patients will have a remaining charge of 40%, except those who benefit from a responsible complementary health policy, that is to say 95% of the insured. The remainder will also be reimbursed for precarious public benefiting from state medical aid (AME).
It will be “a package of one first consultation at 40 euros then 7 consultations at 30 euros which will be sent by medical prescription to psychologists as part of a consultation package which may be renewed if the medical prescription suggests it”, specified the President of the Republic this Tuesday afternoon. The measure will be included in the budget of Social Security for 2022.
And after the eight sessions? Your doctor and the psychologist will review your situation together, with your agreement. If your condition has not improved, your doctor can refer you to structures such as medico-psychological centers (CMP) or to a psychiatrist (private or hospital). You can also continue your follow-up with the same psychologist, but you will no longer be reimbursed.
