New York, Aug 25 (EFE).- The Chilean singer Myriam Hernández, who will receive this year the Award for Musical Excellence granted by the Latin Recording Academy, will begin in New York on October 7 what she has described as the longest tour of his career in the United States, where he will offer 20 concerts.
Hernández will begin his “Mi paraíso” tour in the town of Westbury (Long Island) in New York, which will continue to New Jersey and Connecticut, and will conclude on November 13 in North Carolina, according to a press release.
The Latin Recording Academy reported today that Hernández, Rosario Flores from Spain, Rita Lee from Brazil, Amanda Miguel from Argentina and Yordano from Venezuela will receive the award during a private ceremony on November 16 in Las Vegas.
Hernández, with three decades of experience, is the first Chilean artist to receive this award, which is given to “interpreters who have made contributions of outstanding artistic value to Latin music during their careers.”
“I am excited and grateful to receive this important and significant award in my career. This distinction makes me remember many moments in my career, where I have always been consistent with my style and passion, which is singing to love. I want to thank the unconditional public that has always given me their support, ”she said in the statement announcing her upcoming tour.
At the same event, Spanish composer and producer Manolo Díaz, Cuban saxophonist and clarinetist Paquito D’Rivera, and Mexican bassist Abraham Laboriel will receive the Board of Directors Award.
The tour of the interpreter of hits like “The man I love”, “Smells like danger”, “Herida” or “I’ve come back for you”, among others, will also take her to Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Maryland, Florida, Texas , Louisiana, Georgia and North Carolina, to interpret those songs that the public made their own as well as new compositions.
The Chilean is currently touring Latin America presenting her new album “Sinergia”.
