Mysterious donut-shaped rock found on Mars

NASA said Thursday that its Perseverance robot on Mars has captured images of a mysterious donut-shaped rock.

The “doughnut” is the most recent rock picked up by the robot.

The scientists add that it might be a meteorite or a rock transported to the middle of the surface by a stream.

These ultra-precise images are captured by the “SuperCam”, a device that allows researchers to see what is on the surface of the red planet.

Recall that the Perseverance robot began its mission in July 2020 near the planet’s Jezero crater, in order to find evidence of extraterrestrial life, reports CNN.
