A complete mystery with the sudden death of the folk star Maria Georgieva from “The Rescuers”.
“We are investigating suicide, not suicide in the case of the tragic incident with 34-year-old Maria Georgieva. At the moment, I can only say that the reasons are personal, they are really extremely personal and I cannot comment further at this stage, but we are conducting a serious investigation “, said the district prosecutor of Plovdiv Atanas Iliev, writes “Bulgaria Today”.
According to the police, the 34-year-old Maria, who years ago was part of the folk trio “The Rescuers”, jumped from the sixth floor of a block in the “Kychuk Paris” district of Plovdiv. The incident was reported on March 5 at around 10:00 p.m., and the funeral took place three days later. Police and paramedics arrived at the scene, but the brunette was already lifeless.
Relatives of Maria, quoted by the local media, doubt that the cause of her death was suicide, since shortly before that she had spoken to her mother on the phone, the front door of the apartment was unlocked, and the washing machine was running.
Maria is from Dimitrovgrad, but moved to live in Plovdiv, where she works as a hairdresser. Her relatives say that Georgieva managed to get an apartment under the hills, whose loan she is paying off. She never shared that she had financial problems. Therefore, the whole story is shrouded in mystery, and the people around her have a hard time explaining what happened on the fateful evening.
It is even more shocking that in 2010 another girl from the “Rescuers” – Atanaska died after a fall. The blonde was flying from a viaduct 30 km away on the Hemus highway in the direction of Varna. And then her relatives suspected that it was suicide.
