The relatives of the victims in their agony appeared from the first moment determined to fight with all their weapons so that all aspects are illuminated and justice is done to the memory of their own people.
However, as a result of this effort, “fireworks” are launched from various directions that are announced a little earlier in the Mass Media as “shocking revelations”, but in the end are not confirmed.
The result is that the alleged revelations cloud the research, causing deep disappointment to those who have worked methodically all this time analyzing all the evidence and presenting conclusions drawn in strictly scientific terms.
It is characteristic that Vangelis Vlachos, brother of Vaio Vlachos, who was killed on the fateful night, addressed a public appeal through the X platform (formerly Twitter) to stop the crowns that darken instead of illuminating the gaps more. “…I see how much harm has been done by the errors contained in the findings of experts and technical consultants, which refer to “lost” or “ghost wagons”, which have been reproduced on radio and in newspapers. I heard it either as an argument from some opposition parties or as irony from the government towards us,” wrote Mr. Vlachos, calling on the experts “who have formulated such mistakes to correct them publicly.”
THE Vangelis Vlachos referred to in the expert report Vasilis Kokotsakiswho represents some of the families and who concluded from photographic material and not an autopsy that the merchant train had 14 cars and not 13 as stated.
“We cannot confirm the number of 13 containers and open platforms of the merchant, since by our own measurement from the photographic material they amount to 14 and the possibility of an autopsy (by us) due to the removal of the convictions from their original positions was not possible “, Mr. Kokotsakis writes in his report, adding: “The examination of the debris at the point of deposit is unsafe due to the non-identification of recording, marking and not only at the site of the incident by those conducting the investigation. Mr. Kokotsakis, however, turned it around in a communication with him by Sunday’s Free Press. “Whoever reads the report will see that I am not talking about a lost carriage, but I am saying that I am not confirming that there are 13 as the “Hellenic Train” said,” the expert, who is a retired Fire Department officer from Crete, told us.
Rumors of “unidentified DNA»
From the first days after the accident in Tempi, there were rumors about unidentified bodies that were in the Larissa morgue. The most paradoxical thing is, however, that to this day there is a rumor about DNA that has not been identified and this may mean that there were more victims. Some have even lost count, since they report 57 dead from the train plus one missing, that is 58 victims.
The truth, according to the investigation of “ET” on Sunday, is that there is no unidentified body and the dead are 57 including the young Erietta, that no trace of her was found, after her wagon was engulfed in flames. Unidentified DNA does not even exist on the biological material that the medical examiners belatedly collected from the wreckage in Koulouri last November.
The alleged… drunk station master
At the same time, some others involved in the case insisted until a few days ago that the fatal Larissa station master, who has been remanded in custody, was drunk on the night of the accident. Even this information, however, does not correspond to reality, as, when the station master was arrested, he was subjected to a breathalyzer test, which came out negative.
At the same time, almost every day new “revelations” and “bombshell news” are thrown in the media, which ultimately do not come.
Investigations in Britain and NTU
The investigator is now waiting for answers from two directions for two different issues: The recorders from the route of the commercial train have been sent to a laboratory in Great Britain, so that an attempt can be made to recover the videos that were deleted 15 days after the accident, since -unknown why- no Authority requested that they be stored. Also, the National Technical University of Athens has been assigned to proceed with a new expert opinion on the causes of the fire based on the findings of the State General Chemistry.

For us, it is important to avoid inaccuracies and exaggerations as much as possible, so as not to give the right to question the objective findings of the investigation. Anything that is an estimate or assumption is reported separately and with the relevant label.
Our statements are supported by months of exhaustive investigations, the conclusions of which, as to the part of the cause of death of each victim, cannot be shared, will be filed in court.”
The committee for Tempi, which is completed by the lieutenant general e.a.
