N4 Nighttime Closure for Multimodal Development Project: Traffic Updates and Roadwork Details

2023-09-01 12:56:00

From September 4 to 15, the N4 (Chaussée de Marche) will be closed at night between Géronsart and Acacias, towards Naninne. Sofico announced this measure on Friday. This is necessary for the completion of a phase of the N4 multimodal development project underway between Jambes and Erpent.

“The work will consist of planing the existing surfacing of the road in one layer, repairing the second layer of bituminous asphalt in isolated areas, laying a new surfacing of bituminous asphalt in one layer, and finally laying new road markings”explains Sofico in a press release.

More specifically, car traffic on the section concerned will be carried out on a single lane in the direction of Namur, between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. Traffic in the direction of Naninne will be completely closed. It is advisable to take the E411.

“During the day, traffic will be restored, however, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., so outside peak hours, traffic will be narrowed to one lane per direction”further specifies the Sofico.

This work should be completed by mid-September. Subsequently, interventions will still take place on the shoulders. But these works will have no impact on traffic.
