Name dropped by BC Liberals

British Columbia is going to be unique among Canadian provinces as it will be without a Liberal party in its political landscape. The British Columbia Liberal Party is set to officially confirm a name change to BC United on Wednesday. Kevin Falcon, leader of the new party, stated in November that he hoped to create a party unified by values and determined to focus on results. He wants to ensure that everyone feels welcome in BC United regardless of their religion or who they choose to love. Falcon believes it is a good time to make the transition as he does not expect the NDP Premier to call for an early election. This gives BC United time to promote their new brand image. The party has also taken steps to ensure that a new Liberal party does not appear by retaining the rights to the name. Apart from British Columbia, all other Canadian provinces have a Liberal party in their political sphere, whether or not it is connected to the Liberal Party of Canada.

British Columbia will become the only Canadian province on Wednesday without a Liberal party in its political landscape.

The British Columbia Liberal Party decided to revamp its image and opted for the name BC United. The change will be officially confirmed on Wednesday.

The leader of the new BC United party, Kevin Falcon, explained last November that he wanted a party “united by values, united by the determination to focus on results”.

“The main thing I want is for this party to be unifying. I want to make sure, as I’ve said many times before, that no matter who people choose to love or what God they pray to, they feel welcome at BC United.”

On Sunday, he assured the “Vancouver Sun” that now is a good time to make the transition, since in his opinion, NDP Premier David Eby will not call a hasty election and will wait for the date scheduled for 2024. In doing so , BC United will have time to publicize its new brand image.

The party has also ensured that a new BC Liberal party does not emerge by retaining the rights to the name, City News reported.

The nine other provinces all have a Liberal party in their political universe, whether or not it is linked to the Liberal Party of Canada.

The political landscape of British Columbia is about to change as the British Columbia Liberal Party decides to revamp its image and become BC United. This move will make BC United the only political party in the province without Liberal affiliation. Leader Kevin Falcon’s aim is to create a party “united by values, united by the determination to focus on results” and one that welcomes all individuals regardless of their beliefs. With a new brand image, BC United will have ample time to garner support before the next scheduled election. This move ensures that there will be no emergence of a new BC Liberal party as the BC United retains the rights to the name. With this announcement, the province of British Columbia is set for interesting times ahead.
