“NamX: Revolutionizing the Future of Mobility with Green Hydrogen Technology”

A year after the preview of the prototype of a new range of cars bearing the name of NamX and running on hydrogen (it was in Turin, May 11, 2022), its founder, the Franco-Moroccan Faouzi Annajah was in Tangier, to take part in the Industry meeting days. The 30-year-old entrepreneur took part in a panel devoted to the prospects for green hydrogen in the mobility sector. These are promising and should experience a boom in the coming years.

The use of green hydrogen in transport will in fact greatly contribute to the reduction of carbon emissions, knowing that so-called gray hydrogen, of fossil origin, is polluting: for one kilogram of gray hydrogen produced, which allows to drive a hundred kilometers on average, 10 kilode CO2 are released. It’s a lot !

“The global challenge of our century is how to massively produce low-carbon hydrogen, or green hydrogen. This is an opportunity for Morocco”, explained Faouzi Annajah.

For the boss of NamX, the Kingdom “has all the potential” to produce low-carbon hydrogen. “We have solar, wind and surface. Thanks to His Majesty’s plan, we will be able to export green hydrogen to other countries, particularly European ones”.

And to add: “We are at a turning point. Everything is now in play for the next five years. We are facing an incredible revolution, and we must seize this opportunity to take the lead”.

Beyond climatic and environmental considerations, running on green hydrogen has a definite practical advantage. “Recharging times are very short: 3 to 4 minutes for 800 km of range. We have the same freedom as a normal thermal car, without the constraints of pollution and the recharging time of an electric battery”, specifies our interlocutor.

Referring to the future of NamX’s hydrogen SUV, which caused a stir when it was presented last year in Italy, Faouzi Ennajah told La Vie Eco that the vehicle has entered the engineering phase to prepare for production. in series, on a very large scale. “We plan to enter production at the end of 2026, beginning of 2027. It’s tomorrow!”, He concluded.
