The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and Boeing (American company) will carry out next Thursday, May 19 of the current year, the launch of the Second Boeing Orbital Flight Test (OFT-2), towards the International Space Station (ISS).

According to the Xinhua website, the launch is scheduled for 6:54 a.m. ET. OFT-2 is the second unmanned flight of Boeing’s CST-100 Starliner spacecraft as part of NASA’s Commercial Crew Program.

NASA said the Starliner will be launched on a United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket from Space Launch Complex 41 at the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.

Starliner is expected to arrive at the ISS to dock around 24 hours after launch with more than 500 pounds of cargo and crew supplies from NASA.

After a successful docking, Starliner will spend five to 10 days aboard the orbiting laboratory before returning to Earth in the western United States, according to NASA.

The spacecraft will return with about 270 kilograms of cargo, including tanks for the nitrogen and oxygen recharge system that provides breathable air to station crew members.
