NASA takes a “selfie” to the Moon

On the eighth day of the mission to the Moon, at NASA published a photograph taken by a camera located in one of the solar panels of the Orion spacecraft. Orion also took close-up images of the Moon’s crater as it made its closest approach, passing regarding 129 kilometers above its surface. The 25 1/2-day journey will take the Artemis I mission capsule more than 40,000 miles beyond the dark side of the Moon. If Orion completes its journey and returns to Earth, it will be the farthest a spacecraft intended to transport human beings has ever traveled.
