Marjo, Garou, Isabelle Boulay, Fouki and Scott-Pien Picard, among others, will take part in the Grand spectacle of the National Day of Quebec in Montreal, which will take place this year at Maisonneuve Park, very close to the Botanical Garden and the Olympic Park.
The June 24 celebrations will once again be hosted by Pierre-Yves Lord, who will once again put on his “DJ” hat at the end of the evening.
Mélissa Bédard, Souldia and her protege Jay Jay, but also Lydia Képinski, P’tit Béliveau and Justin Boulet will also take part in the big National Day. The Qualité Motel group will make sure to keep the crowd dancing until midnight.

“I caught what” – Pierre-Yves Lord
On the animation for a second consecutive year, Pierre-Yves Lord admitted Monday, at the unveiling of the programming, to have “gotten what” last year when he animated the Grand spectacle on the Place des Festivals, in the Quartier des Spectacles.
“These are special energies to experience for a group of humans on a stage and for the spectators too. There is like a really powerful exchange of energy and vibrations,” he told QMI Agency, while indicating that he had been in a bubble for more than a week after the show.
“I feel lucky to be there again this year,” he also said, specifying that he particularly loved seeing monuments of Quebec song like Marjo and Isabelle Boulay rub shoulders on the same stage alongside by Lydia Képinski or Souldia. “To see all this baggage rubbing shoulders on stage, I find it frankly beautiful,” he said with stars in his eyes.
At the end of the evening, the host will once again offer a 100% Quebec DJ set. However, not yet knowing exactly which songs he will play, Pierre-Yves Lord should probably play some great classics by Céline Dion, Diane Dufresne, BB, but also Rap Queb and rigodons.
“It’s really going to go everywhere. We are going to dive into the music that Quebecers love. There may also be small discoveries, but we will move the world,” he said.
“Last year, I expected it to be quiet, playing in front of a small, scattered crowd heading for the subway, but in the end everyone was still hanging on the fence shouting about BBs,” said- he added, laughing, stressing that, for him, this annual high mass served moreover and above all as a pretext to share “the love of Quebec, of the Francophonie, and to splash all those who surround us with”.
The return of the parade
The traditional Saint-Jean parade will return to the streets of Montreal on June 24. The allegorical floats will notably celebrate the First Nations, the animated balconies, the gourmet seasons, the performing arts and Quebec creativity, in addition to highlighting the 75e anniversaire du fleurdelysé.
Under the theme of “the dance of happiness”, but also of pride, culture and territory, the parade will start at the corner of boulevard Saint-Joseph and rue Molson at 1:30 p.m. and will end at intersection of Pie-IX and Sherbrooke streets, near Maisonneuve Park.
In all, more than 350 artists from various disciplines and 200 extras will walk in this parade.
Parc Maisonneuve will come alive shortly before 1 p.m. for the dress rehearsal of the show.
The Grand spectacle of the National Day of Quebec in Montreal will be broadcast live, on June 24, on ICI Télé and TVA, as well as on the hertz waves on the stations Cogeco Média, RYTHME and CIME, as well as on 96.9 CKOI, around 8:30 p.m.
Neighborhood parties
Many neighborhood parties will be organized on the sidelines of the National Day. Depending on the neighborhoods and boroughs, there will be family activities, large tables, artistic and cultural activities organized on June 23 and 24.
The different programs are therefore to be monitored.
