NNA – President of the “International Union of Resistance Scholars” Sheikh Maher Hammoud received, in his office in Beirut, a delegation from the “Association of Muslim Scholars” headed by the head of the assembly’s administrative body Sheikh Hassan Abdullah, and members of the assembly’s administrative body: Sheikh Zuhair Juaid, Sheikh Hussein Ghabris, Sheikh Maher Mezher and Sheikh Ibrahim Baridi.

During the meeting, according to a statement by the union, “the general situation in Lebanon was reviewed, in light of the social and political crises that Lebanon is going through,” and the “importance of respecting the constitutional deadlines and the need for a new government to be formed to address the crises that Lebanon is experiencing.”

Hammoud and the delegation reviewed “the repercussions of the war, the unity of the squares, and the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, and they praised the Islamic Jihad movement, its pioneering role in the resistance, and the steadfastness of the heroic Palestinian people in the face of the enemy’s raids and aggression.”

Hammoud also received Sheikh Mahmoud al-Muqaddam from Germany, who specializes in the ten readings of the Holy Qur’an, and Sheikh Abdul Qadir Hassoun, the imam of the Farhat Mosque in Wadi al-Zina, and public affairs were discussed.
