NNA – The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: “Within the framework of combating drug smuggling operations carried out by the Central Anti-Narcotics Office in the Judicial Police Unit to arrest members of these networks and arrest them in flagrante delicto, information was available that the suspect: R. Dr. (born in 1977, Lebanese), who is wanted for the crime of drug smuggling, has resumed his activity in one of the international networks that smuggle cocaine from Brazil to Lebanon, and that he has received a quantity of this substance that was smuggled professionally in preparation for its distribution in Lebanon.

On February 12, 2022, and as a result of intensive investigations and investigations, his whereabouts were determined in the southern town of Kfarman. After monitoring and follow-up operations, in coordination with the Special Group, a tight ambush was set up for him, which resulted in his arrest.

By searching his house, a quantity of cocaine was found inside shower-liquid (shampoo) and deodorant containers, weighing about 3/kg net, which is equivalent to approximately 9/kg after mixing it with other substances in Lebanon. Its value is estimated at about 900,000 US dollars. In addition to seizing a military rifle and pistol, a sum of money of about LBP/275,000,000, and a sensitive scale.

The investigation is underway under the supervision of the competent judiciary.”
