National News Agency – Sri Lankan president calls on opposition to join unity government after ministers resign

NNA – The President of Sri Lanka, Gotabaya Rajapaksa, today called on the opposition to join a unity government to address the deepening economic crisis, following the resignation of all his cabinet ministers, while demonstrations calling for his resignation spread on the island, according to “Agence France Presse.”

“The president calls on the political parties in Parliament to accept ministerial positions and join efforts to find solutions to the national crisis,” Rajapaksa’s office announced in a statement.
