The National Police Food Task Force TEAM continues to monitor in the field to check the stabilization of food supplies and prices during Ramadan and ahead of Eid. The National Police Food Task Force team supervises a number of markets and supermarkets in Riau.

Intermediate Investigator at the Directorate of Special Economic Crimes at Bareskrim Polri, Kombes Didik Sudaryanto, said that there were several places where the National Police Food Task Force Team in Riau monitored and supervised 12 commodities, such as rice, eggs, chicken and beef.

“According to the results of checks, the stock of these 12 commodities is classified as safe and stable,” said Didik in his statement on Tuesday (26/3).

Even though it is considered stable, said Didik, the National Police Food Task Force Team together with the regions are still taking various precautions to maintain price stability and the availability of important basic commodities (bapokting).

“The task force and related ministries and agencies are anticipating to stabilize prices and stocks of bapokting,” he explained.

Didik revealed that the results of checking the medium rice commodity at the Cikpuan Traditional Market had a stock of 2 tons per week.

Meanwhile, medium rice was obtained from Bulog Regional Office of Riau, Riau Islands at a price of IDR 10,540/kg and sold to consumers for IDR 57,500/5 kg.

Then, he said, the red cayenne pepper commodity at the Cikpuan Traditional Market has a stock of 30 kg, red cayenne pepper is obtained from the West Sumatra area at a price of IDR 72,000/kg, and is sold for IDR 75,000/kg.

“The results of checking the curly red chilies at the Cikpuan Traditional Market showed that they had a stock of 50 kg, the red cayenne peppers were obtained from the West Sumatra area at a price of IDR 42,000/kg, and were sold for IDR 45,000/kg,” he said.

Furthermore, Didik said that purebred chicken eggs at the Cikpuan Traditional Market have a stock of approximately 100 boards, purebred chicken eggs are obtained from the West Sumatra area at a price of Rp. 48,000/board to Rp. 50,000/board and are sold for Rp. 52,000/board up to Rp. 54,000 /board.

“The stock of pure chicken meat at the Cikpuan Traditional Market is 50 kg, obtained from local breeders at a price of IDR 25,000/kg, and sold for IDR 28,000/kg. “Then, beef stock of approximately 200 kg was obtained from a local livestock company for IDR 135,000/kg and sold for IDR 140,000/kg,” he concluded.
