National students test knowledge in Portuguese and mathematics – Jornal OPaís

A total of 1,200 students participated, yesterday, in the first edition of the International Knowledge Tests, promoted by the National Association of Private Education (ANEP) of Angola, in partnership with the Association of Private and Cooperative Education Establishments (AEEP) of Portugal

The information was disclosed to this newspaper, this Sunday, by the president of the National Association of Private Education (ANEP), António Pacavira. The person in charge made a point of highlighting that the tests, prepared in Portugal, were aimed at students from the 7th to the 12th class, covering the subjects of Portuguese Language and Mathematics.

António Pacavira said that the event aimed to assess the level of knowledge of Angolan students in light of the international curriculum. He considered the outcome of the event to be positive, as it went according to his department’s predictions. According to Pacavira, the tests were carried out in several institutions in the province of Luanda, with emphasis on the Private University of Angola (UPRA), ISPTEC and Óscar Ribas.

He highlighted that the event was attended by 74 institutions, representing four provinces of the country, namely Benguela, Zaire, Huíla and Luanda. The director highlighted that the tests arrived in Portugal yesterday, ensuring that the results will be announced in the coming days. Regarding the award, he highlighted that the best students will be awarded online courses with a Portuguese curriculum, which allow access to Higher Education in Portugal. In addition, they will be entitled to an Apple tablet (IPAD), as well as a one-week pedagogical experience in the lands of Fernando Pessoa.

António Pacavira stated that the sum of all the tests will determine the level of private education in Angola this year, with regard to the subjects of Portuguese Language and Mathematics. “Everything went well. A very positive balance. It was an event that aimed to check the level of knowledge of our students. The results of the tests will be known in the next few days”, he stressed, highlighting that the best students will benefit from a pedagogical experience in Portugal, recreational and sporting activities.
