Istanbul – Shortly before the start of the NATO summit in Lithuania, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan gave up his block on Sweden joining. At a meeting, Erdogan and Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson agreed on a series of steps on the basis of which Erdogan would submit the accession protocol to the Turkish parliament for a decision, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said on Monday evening in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius.
