NATO targeted by cyberattacks over the weekend – ICT news

NATO was targeted during the weekend by cyber attacks, but they did not affect secure networks, its secretary general, Jens Stoltenberg, said on Monday.

“We have seen attempts to deny access since Sunday on our public websites. The majority of these sites are operating normally,” he said during a press conference at the Brussels headquarters of the Alliance, while still admitting “some difficulties”.

Mr. Stoltenberg, however, assured that the “classified” networks (carrying confidential information, editor’s note) were not affected by this cyberattack which, according to him, had no impact on allied missions and operations.
