The day following a forceps victory in front of Miami, Atlanta fell to Memphis. Deprived of their three best players, the Hawks lost 128-103.
Without Dejounte Murrray, Trae Young and Clint Capela, hit in the left Achilles tendon, Atlanta did not have the shadow of a chance. The absence of Ja Morant in the ranks of the Grizzies weighed much less. Memphis led 62-51 at the break before winning 40-25 in the 3rd quarter to pick up a 6th success in a row.
With this defeat, the 14th in 28 matches, Atlanta once more presents a balanced record which probably does not really match its ambitions. The Hawks are hoping for the return of the absentees to rebound Wednesday in Orlando.
