NBA News: Victor Wembanyama’s Sixth Defeat, Warriors Clash, and More

Next defeat for Victor Wembanyama: The child prodigy suffered his sixth defeat in a row with the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night.

In the clear 87:123 against the Oklahoma City Thunder, the 19-year-old was once again out of form, only managing eight points and two assists – his worst record since his NBA debut on October 25th.

At the beginning of November he caused a stir with 38 points against the Phoenix Suns.

Meanwhile, the Golden State Warriors suffered a narrow defeat. Without superstar Stephen Curry, who is facing a long-term absence due to a knee injury, they lost 101:104 to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

But things got even worse for the Warriors at the start of the game. Klay Thompson and Jaden McDaniels clashed after just 100 seconds of play.

They tugged wildly at each other’s jerseys – creating a larger pack. Draymond Green put Minnesota center Rudy Gobert in a headlock.

The result: Thompson, Green and McDaniels were all sent off. It was the first NBA game in 25 years in which multiple players were sent off before their respective teams scored points.

Karl-Anthony Towns then led his team to victory with 33 points and eleven rebounds, while Brandin Podziemski was the best scorer for the Warriors with 23 points.

Meanwhile, without national player Maximilian Kleber, who injured his toe, the Dallas Mavericks lost the quick reunion with the New Orleans Pelicans. Two days after the 136:124 victory in Louisiana, the Texans lost 110:131 in the North American professional league NBA at the same place.

The top stars Kyrie Irving (17 points) and Luka Doncic (16), who had each broken the 30-point mark two days earlier, remained below their potential this time. In the eleventh game of the season it was the third defeat for the Mavs.

World champion Daniel Theis once again didn’t get a chance to prove himself in his Indiana Pacers’ 132:126 win against the Philadelphia 76ers. The 31-year-old was not part of the squad and has to wait for his second appearance this season. It was also the Pacers’ second duel against the same opponent in a row; they lost the first meeting 126:137.

The Los Angeles Lakers celebrated a clear victory. They defeated the Memphis Grizzlies 134:107 and won the second game in the newly created In-Season Tournament. Point guard D’Angelo Russell was the game’s top scorer with 24 points.
