The Los Angeles Clippers missed the NBA playoffs.
In the so-called play-in they lost at home on Friday (local time) with 101:105 (46:56) against the New Orleans Pelicans.
In the absence of injured basketball superstars Paul George and Kawhi Leonard, Reggie Jackson and Marcus Morris were the Clippers’ top pitchers with 27 points. The German NBA professional Isaiah Hartenstein only got two points in five and a half minutes of play. The Pelicans around 30-point man Brandon Ingram now meet the Phoenix Suns in the playoffs.
George missed the game because he had to go into the league’s Corona protocol shortly before. The 31-year-old did not feel well on Thursday, a corona test is said to have been positive according to media reports. George has missed over 50 games this season, including with a serious elbow injury. Leonard has been completely absent this season due to a cruciate ligament tear.
In the Eastern Conference, the Atlanta Hawks secured last place in the postseason. They defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 107-101 (51-61) and now face the Miami Heat. However, they are threatened with the end of Clint Capela, who had to leave the game due to a knee injury.
