Victor Wembanyama had a block party against Dennis Schröder’s Toronto Raptors, but in the end the Canadians won after extra time. The Raptors overcame a 22-point deficit and prevailed 123:116.

Victor Wembanyama almost made it exciting again. 25 seconds before the end of overtime, his three-pointer at -4 looked into the basket, but ultimately rolled out, after which the Raptors brought the game home from the free throw line. Wembanyama still scored four of the Spurs’ six points in overtime and recorded 20 points (7/16 FG), 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 blocks in 38 minutes. The Frenchman also influenced numerous throws, including some airballs from downtown.
Once Wemby was even able to block a three-pointer from OG Anunoby (24, 7/13 3P), who had the hot hand for Toronto. Together with Scottie Barnes (30, 9/20, 11 rebounds), the forward fueled the comeback of the Raptors, who were down by up to 22 points in the first half. Toronto won the fourth quarter 39:24, after which it was mainly Dennis Schröder who kept the Raptors’ hopes alive in the third period.
The Braunschweiger recorded 24 points (10/19) and 6 assists in 38 minutes, only downtown didn’t want to go (1/6). The only hit was a bank shot, which was definitely not intentional. Pascal Siakam (8, 2/12), on the other hand, had a completely used evening. On the Spurs side, Keldon Johnson (26) was the best scorer, while Devin Vassell was missing due to injury.
It was Johnson who put San Antonio back in front from the free throw line shortly before the end of regular time, but Toronto managed to equalize again after Anunoby put a missed Schröder three-pointer into the basket.
