In Russia, a large-scale recall of BMW cars will be held, says on the website of Rosstandart. Cars may have problems with airbags.
“On affected vehicles, as a result of years of aging, the driver’s airbag inflator may fail. If the airbag is deployed during an accident, the gas generator may develop too much internal pressure. Under adverse circumstances, the gas generator explodes, and its metal parts can cause injury, ”the Rosstandart said in a statement.
The recall covers 4,736 vehicles manufactured between January 2015 and January 2016. This number includes BMW 1 Series (F20), 2 Series Active Tourer (F45), 2 Series Coupe (F22), 3 Series Sedan (F80), 3 Series Touring (F31), 3 Series (F30), 3 Series (F34 ), 4 Series Cabrio (F33), 4 Series Coupe (F32), 4 Series Coupe (F36), 4 Series Coupe (F83), 5 Series Touring (F11), 5 Series (F07), 5 Series (F10), 6 Series (F06), 6 Series (F12), 6 Series (F13), M2 Coupe (F87), M4 Coupe (F82), X1 (F48), X5 M (F85), X5 (F15), X6 M (F86 series) ), X6 (F16 series).
