A total of 100 remarkable construction sites were open to the general public for the 16th Open Construction Day, organized by Embuild, the construction federation. A great success according to the latter, which indicates on Sunday that nearly 60,000 face-to-face visitors and 190,000 virtual visitors took part in the event.
“We want to make our sector known to as many people as possible. This is important, because construction has evolved a lot in recent years: the sector has become more sustainable and safer, partly thanks to the use of new technologies”, assures Niko Demeester, managing director of Embuild.
Last year, 54,000 people visited an on-site site and 141,000 opted for a virtual visit.
