Neighbors Welcome AZC Plan: No Problems Seen

Not cast in concrete

The municipality previously had plans to build on private land, but the owner did not agree. The new location is in the same area, but is owned by the municipality of Heemskerk. The land was previously leased, but that agreement has since been dissolved.

After the failure of the previous plan, Heemskerk and Uitgeest indicated that they would continue to look for a suitable location. The place now proposed came to the fore during a residents’ meeting in May 2023, the municipality of Uitgeest said.

The plan is not yet final. As soon as the province grants exemption, the COA will conduct additional investigation to determine whether the location is actually suitable. “The process that is now running at the province is therefore one of the many important steps to be taken,” says a spokesperson for the municipality of Uitgeest.
