“Nestlé Waters is facing, like its entire industry, deteriorating weather conditions, with more frequent and intense events, such as regular droughts followed by heavy rains, which affect the operating conditions of certain drilling on its site in the Vosges”, indicated the group, confirming information from the daily Morning Vosges.

“In this context, two of the boreholes intended for the production of the Hépar brand have been identified as particularly sensitive, due to their shallowness, to climatic hazards”, which affects “the availability of water resources on these boreholes and makes it very difficult to maintain the stability of the essential characteristics of natural mineral water”, continues the same source, according to which Nestlé Waters has decided to “suspend” their use. The group has not yet specified the expected duration of this suspension and did not wish to communicate on the quantities taken from its boreholes.

“Sustainable and responsible management”

The production of Hépar water, rich in magnesium, “continues with the four other boreholes whose operating conditions are not affected” and Hépar products remain “available for its consumers and distributors (…) within the limits of quantities available”, specifies the group.

Nestlé Waters also indicates that it will “accelerate the implementation of measures intended to improve the resilience of its activities, while pursuing sustainable and responsible management of the resource”.

“New projects will be implemented” from this spring “in collaboration with local stakeholders, to pursue its environmental roadmap and continue to protect the water recharge area from climatic hazards”, assures the group.

drought. Nestlé Waters (Vittel, Contrex, Perrier brands, etc.) has decided, due to the vagaries of the weather, to suspend the use of two of the six boreholes dedicated to its Hépar water in the Vosges. The group has not specified at this stage the duration of this measure.
