Netflix has truly become synonymous with green light shows and then canceling them following they first air, and today’s news only confirms that belief. Because Deadline reports that the streamer has decided to ax five series, including one of its more high-profile ones, following the fallout from the Hollywood strike. Specifically, we’re told that Shadow and Bone, Agent Elvis, Glamorous, Farzar, and Captain Fall have all been canned and there will be no more seasons of those shows, at least on Netflix. The big name of the bunch is, of course, Shadow and Bone Shadow and Bone, as it’s been one of Netflix’s biggest projects of late and many believe the show will be getting its third run soon. Performance versus cost is said to have played a role in the decision to cancel many of these projects, although other factors also played a role. It should be said that, of late, Netflix has been on a roll with renewals, as One Piece, Castlevania: Nocturne, The Night Agent, Fubar, and more have all been picked up for follow-up outings. However, as D66f8ce82aa5e4abba6ffb5074c134539 demonstrates, this doesn’t necessarily mean they will be safe beyond this range.
