Netflix is the least popular streaming platform

According to a survey, users’ opinions of Netflix are divided. The platform finds itself very poorly ranked in terms of customer satisfaction.

A survey measured customer satisfaction with Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, Apple TV+, Hulu, Peacock, Paramount+, Amazon’s Prime Video and Discovery+. Whip Media, an entertainment data and analytics provider behind it, surveyed 2,460 US users of its TV Time app between the ages of 18 and 54.

A half-hearted first place

According to Whip Media’s 2022 Streaming Satisfaction Report. Netflix remains the most indispensable service among the major streaming platforms. In numbers, 31% of US subscribers say they would keep the service if they could only have one video subscription. HBO Max is hot on the heels of the giant on the podium with 19% of respondents who admit that they would rather choose this platform. It should be noted, however, that even though Netflix retains its place in the rankings, it still loses 10 percentage points compared to the company’s 2021 survey. And this, while HBO Max and Disney + have both progressed compared to last year.

Unconvincing content

Netflix also retains its #1 title for user experience and content recommendations. On the other hand, the judgment is totally different with regard to the value and quality of the content. Of the nine subscription video-on-demand services studied, Netflix comes last. HBO Max is the highest ranked and Disney+ takes second place. For its part, this year, Apple TV+ is making the biggest progress in terms of customer satisfaction. The service gained 14 percentage points to 76%.

Pricing reasons

As a reminder, Netflix decided to increase its prices at the beginning of the year. And, according to the report, this is the top reason customers said they canceled their subscriptions. Indeed, 69% of former Netflix customers said they had abandoned the service following the price increases.

“We understand that people have more entertainment choices than ever before and we are committed to providing an even better experience for our members…We are updating our prices so that we can continue to offer a wide variety of quality entertainment options“, a Netflix spokesperson said in a statement, reports ComicBook.
