The teachers union of Neuquén ATEN, rejected in all its assemblies the salary proposal that the government had offered them. On Monday the issue will be brought to the level of the plenary session of general secretaries to be held in Zapala and another meeting with the Executive is expected next week.
The deliberation in the different sections culminated on Friday night and during the weekend it was known that it was determined bring the motion of rejection to the leadership of the union, to its opposition that has representation in Neuquén capital, El Chañar, Picún Leufú and Plottier.
As anticipated by several union sources, the main reason for rejecting the offer is that the representative body of teachers in Neuquén aspires to update salaries on a monthly basis, as opposed to maintaining the current system that does so on a monthly basis. bimonthly according to inflation (CPI), as the Government intended.
Despite being against what was proposed by the Executive, the internal dispute between the provincial leadership of ATEN and its opposition also marked differences in this matter. From ATEN Province and the sectionals that also respond to the leadership of Marcelo Guagliardo, it was made clear that the rejection of the offer is not total, but that changes should be made to salaries and incorporate other items. From now on, the discussion remains in the hands of the Plenary of the union’s general secretaries that will be held in Zapala next Monday the 13th.
