User frigis9 has transformed images from classic MS-DOS games into detailed and realistic images. He shared the result on reddit.
To create images, frigis9 used the Stable Diffusion neural network’s img2img algorithm. He took a snapshot from the game as a basis and added a text query to it. The author made more precise adjustment of images using the Visions of Chaos program.
In total, frigis9 submitted 12 illustrations, including those from Duke Nukem, Star Wars: Dark Forces, The Secret of Monkey Island, King’s Quest VI and Star Control II. According to the author, for a more accurate result, he often had to change the text query and experiment with add-ons in Visions of Chaos.
