New Academic Year in Bahrain: Higher Student Enrollment Expected in 2021-2022

Manama: The new academic year in Bahrain will begin today. The teachers have completed the preparations to receive the students coming to the school following the summer vacation. It is estimated that more students will enter the first class this year than previous years.

Bahraini Education Minister Dr. Muhammad Mubarak Juma said.

He clarified that 1,50,000 students are expected this year. He said that the number of students in 209 government schools in the country is regarding 1,55,000 and that in 80 private schools is more than 90,000.

A new school timetable has also been announced in Bahrain as part of the extension of school breaks for students. The timings are such that classes for elementary students end at 12.30 pm, middle school at 1.15 pm and high school at 1.45 pm. In this way, the students will be able to reach home within 3 pm, said the Education Minister.
