If you take a look at the latest Aldi Nord brochure, you will find a surprising new product here: Like giga.de discovered, the discounter is currently selling a used but refurbished Apple Watch Series 3 at a price of 169 euros. The fact that this is really an Apple product can only be seen in the small print.
The smartwatch is declared as a Renewd product. This is a Dutch company that specializes in the general overhaul of Apple goods such as iPhones or Apple Watches.
New at Aldi: Apple products under a different name
The price for the “refurbished” Watch Series 3 is a real bargain. For comparison: At Amazon you pay almost 215 euros for a new smartwatch. However, customers should be aware that the Aldi price comes regarding because it is a used and refurbished product.
Who takes a look at the Aldi online offer Aldi Talk throws, you will also find a number of “refurbished” Apple products here, such as the iPhone 11 series or the newer Apple Watch Series 5. However, the Apple name is still used in here.
It is not yet clear whether the omission of Apple’s name in the prospectus is a mistake or whether the discount giant is adopting a new strategy.
