In Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), on May 8, 2023, during a press briefing, the health authorities of the provincial health division of Butemboannounced the diagnosis of a case of Ebola virus disease that originated from the health zone of Kyondo au North Kivu. No further information on this new Ebola case is available.
For the record, the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo announced the end of the fifteenth epidemic of Ebola virus disease on September 27, 2022. This epidemic was declared by the health authorities on August 21, 2022 in Beni in the province of Nord- Kivu and only one case has been recorded.
