The Ministry of Industry and Commerce recently filed a bill with the General Secretariat of the Government to remedy the significant shortcomings of Law No. 31-08 on consumer protection, which placed users in a vulnerable position. in the face of borderline legal practices.

According to the Economist and H24info, this new provision introduced by the bill provides for the organization of sales periods lasting a minimum of two weeks and a maximum of two months. A subsequent regulatory text will set the precise dates of these sales on sale.

Promotional offers can be organized for a maximum period of four weeks, spread throughout the year according to the merchants’ free choice. It is obvious that no date can be set for liquidation sales that occur in cases such as the closing of a business or a change of activity.
