Regarding the case of a young man who brought drugs into the dance hall to celebrate his girlfriend’s birthday, on February 3, Hai Chau District Police (Da Nang City) prosecuted the case and prosecuted 4 defendants including Vo Ngoc Phi (born 1993), Phan Van Kiem (SN 2000, Dai Loc district, Quang Nam province), To Ngoc Linh (born 1990, resident of Tra Son commune, Bac Tra My district, Quang Nam province) and Ho Nhat Hai (SN 1990). 2000, residing in Hoa Cuong Nam ward, Hai Chau district) to investigate the act of “illegal possession of drugs”.
Before that, at 0:00 on January 31, the Hai Chau District Police force suddenly checked the New Phuong Dong discotheque located on Dong Da street (Thuan Phuoc ward). At this time, there are hundreds of guests in the discotheque.
After controlling 3 concentrated tables, the police force discovered many people showing signs of drug use. Discovered Vo Ngoc Phi, Phan Van Kiem and some other people illegally possessing 30.5 synthetic drugs in the form of ecstasy, 2 packs of ketamine.
Through a quick test of 43 guests at these tables, the functional forces identified 38 people positive for drugs. Randomly testing some guests, the police identified 26 more people positive for drugs.
At the police station, Phi confessed to bringing dozens of ecstasy pills to the dance hall to celebrate his girlfriend’s birthday, but this person did not come.
According to the police agency, one of the accused on Phi played the role of mastermind. This person has just finished serving a prison sentence for illegal drug trafficking in mid-2022.
