Special atmosphere this Saturday, June 10 in the communal forest. Elected municipal officials, commission of woods and dodgers, National Forestry Office officials, Franck Menonville, senator, were gathered there around the mayor of Sampigny, to inaugurate the forest road completed last March. It was in summer weather that this delegation went to the communal forest in order to appreciate the extent and quality of the work completed on this road traced in the heart of the wooded sector of Sainte-Lucie, with a length of 1 .5 km and about 4 m wide, made up of 8,000 tonnes of crushed limestone. Equipped with crossing areas, a place for logs and a turning space at its end, it now allows trucks easy access to plots 26, 27, 29, 30, 34 and 35, in order to load the wood, without requiring the intervention of powerful forestry tractors, the exercise of which also causes the formation of gaping ruts in their path when the logs leave this part of the communal forest.
Designed by local elected officials and validated by the ONF, the site was entrusted to the public works company Chardot TP of Commercy. Subject to European regulations and amounting to €88,274, this project was supported by the Grand Est Region in order to better mobilize and enhance this beautiful communal forest.
