New Geely Coolray is cheaper than Lada Vesta in Russia

The updated Geely Coolray (aka Binyue with the prefix Cool) debuted in China in mid-July. For the model, this is the first large-scale restyling, which brought her not only a new design with a spindle-shaped radiator grille in the style of Lexus, but also a more powerful engine.

The model with the Cool prefix is equipped with the latest BHE15 four-cylinder engine developed by Aurobay, a company owned by Zhejiang Geely Holding Group and Volvo. This unit has the same volume as the “turbo engine” that was installed on Coolray before restyling and is familiar to Russians – 1.5 liters. At the same time, the “four” is more powerful: it produces 181 horsepower compared to 177 for its predecessor (in the Russian specification – 150 forces). The gearbox is the same – a seven-speed “robot” with two clutches. Drive, as before, only the front.
