When it comes to gene therapies, a major innovation is apparently imminent. For the first time there might be such a treatment for a serious skin disease. In addition, it would be the first gene therapy that is only applied through the skin. As early as mid-May, the US drug agency FDA is to advise on the approval of the therapy for a form of the “butterfly children” disease.
