New languages in visionOS code indicate launch in more countries

As we well know, the Apple Vision Pro is available, at least for now, only in the United States and does not yet have a confirmed date for landing in other countries — although rumors suggest that this might happen even before WWDC24 (in June).

References found by staff MacRumors in the visionOS code, however, they might very well be a clue as to which countries might be the next to receive Apple’s popular mixed reality (augmented/virtual) headset.

VisionOS, it is worth remembering, currently supports only one language: American English. According to the vehicle, however, the operating system software now includes references to other languages, which may be officially added in a next update:

  • Traditional Cantonese
  • Simplified Chinese
  • English (Australia)
  • English (Canada)
  • English (Japan)
  • English (Singapore)
  • English (UK)
  • French (Canada)
  • French (France)
  • German (Germany)
  • Japanese
  • Korean

This doesn’t mean, of course, that Apple will launch the Vision Pro in all of these countries at once. However, the inclusion of these options in the visionOS code might be an indication of the next countries to which the company intends to take its newest product.

Older rumors, it is worth remembering, had already raised the possibility that the Cupertino giant was considering launching the headset in Germany, Australia, Canada, China, South Korea, France, Hong Kong, Japan and the United Kingdom, which matches the list of languages above.

May Brazil and Portugal join this list soon! 🙏
