The American manufacturer of injection molded parts and engineering plastics for car manufacturers, Lear Corporation, recently announced the launch of a new plant in Morocco during the third quarter of this year. The unit will be dedicated to connection systems, which will also create 150 new jobs. This installation will extend over 5,300 m² in Tangier, on a converted factory space to reinforce the structure’s global vertical integration strategy and diversify its activities in the kingdom.
Lear’s global vice president for electrical distribution systems and connection systems, Enrique Orta stressed that this project “will strengthen production capacities in the region”. So far, the group employs 19,000 people at 17 sites in Morocco. Globally, Lear is present in 37 countries, with teams focused on innovation and sustainability, to deliver relevant and intelligent technology.
