New Nintendo Switch: a new model unveiled in September? – Rumor

The good thing about new console rumors is that sooner or later they are confirmed! If you’re a Nintendo fan, you know the song. Already at the time of the Wii U, we were talking about the release of the NX when the GamePad console was not even two years old! Well, at the same time at the time, the console of Nintendo had great difficulty selling and, Satoru Iwatathen president of Nintendohad the good idea to announce his successor, very early (but not to worry, the Wii U, the 3DS and the NX were going to coexist smoothly…)

At the editorial staff of NM, we always thought that the release of the Switch 2 were intrinsically linked to la sortie de la suite de Zelda Breath of The Wild. It must be said that it is the ideal title to launch a new console and it is not as if Nintendo had not already done the trick to us twice (with Twilight Princess and justly, Breath of The Wild released on two consoles at once.) At the same time, unlike the Wii U, the Nintendo Switch is a hit all over the world and, this time around, Nintendo is certainly in no hurry to announce the sequel. Despite the years (and its architecture already outdated when it was released) the console continues its crazy rise in the charts. So yes, the Nintendo Switch is still struggling to receive cross-platform games released on PS4, but that’s not a big deal, especially since the developers are gradually realizing small feats…

There is also the COVID crisis that has been there, not to mention the shortage of components or even the situation in Ukraine… However, for many, 2023 is a milestone year and not simply because now the continuation of Zelda Breath of The Wild is planned for 2023. Since the launch of the Switch, in mars 2017, every two yearsNintendo has launched a new model to revitalize console sales: the Lite in 2019 et la OLED en 2021. We can therefore think that in 2023, a new model of Switch will see the light of day. Logic. Afterwards, it is difficult to anticipate so much Nintendo always keeps track of his calendar. Will the next model change the architecture of the console? And will this new model remain fully compatible with the old one (likea perpetual platform ?) Will there be un dock 4K as mentioned in old rumors ? We also see it with the PS4 and the PS5, it is possible to make two consoles of different generations coexist by continuing to supply one and the other. It may be an option Nintendo will choose as the transition from one generation to another is always tricky, especially if you have to start from scratch… Obviously, we say to ourselves that if this Nintendo Switch 2 exists and is well planned for a release in 2023, Nintendo will have no reason to announce it before next year…

However, a user of forum ReseteRa noted that while rumors were circulating last week on a possible announcement of a new Switch model, a mysterious Chinese informant (a priori linked to the console manufacturing factories) had tried to calm things down by revealing, before its official announcement that this new model, was in fact only ane SPLATOON 3 edition of the Switch OLED and that on the other hand a “real” new model of Nintendo Switch was well in preparation, and that it would probably be unveiled in september.

So, it’s not the first time that this kind of rumor has spread, but the fact of having announced the Switch SPLATOON 3 before its formalization inevitably means that we stop there and note it in a small corner of our heads… It is true that if the Nintendo Switch had been a “very powerful” console, these kinds of rumors would not have arrived for years (as is the case with consoles from SONY for example.) The fact that from the start, the Switch did not seem armed enough to face the market but also the future, made many want to believe that Nintendo was going to rectify the situation. However, Nintendo has once again defied all predictions by imposing its Switch as a must-have on the market thanks to its globally acclaimed hybrid concept.

Knowing that the rumors of a great Nintendo Direct late August – early September should start again very soon, we haven’t finished hearing about Nintendo Switch 2. So do you expect this new console or on the contrary do you prefer that Nintendo continues to focus on the current Nintendo Switch, do not hesitate to express yourself in the comments.
