New Nissan Frontier campaign unites the 3D world with the real world

South America – “Torii portals were designed to stay on Earth for many years. The Nissan Frontier too.” Thus begins the new commercial for the Japanese brand’s pickup truck, which debuts on Argentina e no Brazil. The commercial piece combines the magic of 3D technology with natural landscapes of South America.

Nissan takes its Japanese DNA to the next level in this campaign, highlighting the robustness and durability of the pickup, highlighting the new six-year warranty on the Argentina e no Brazil. The creation was a partnership between TBWA – Nissan United SAM and the production company Landia Brasil and will be available on television, radio, digital media and public roads.

Brazil and its variety of landscapes around São Paulo – such as Pirapora do Bom Jesus, Ilha Comprida and Santos – served as inspiration to portray rocky fields, beaches, ports and the big city, which frame the story of the new commercial piece.

In it, boarding their Nissan Frontier, a man and a woman go through different “torii” and overcome challenges, regardless of the universe in which they find themselves. The signature “Designed to do more” this time takes on new meaning, reinforcing that the pickup is useful for any type of occasion and terrain.

Nissan’s origins are reinforced with the concept cool japanesewhich values the mix of tradition and modernity in a tribute to Japanese culture through elements that highlight the “torii” (arch) and an expressive color palette.

A combination of techniques

The process of creating the “torii” (Japanese portal that is repeated throughout the spot commercial) was the result of a combination of techniques. First, a unique 3D look was designed and then modeled.

The tunnel sequence reproduced in the commercial was made 100% in model form, with lighting and special lens equipment to achieve perceived realism. This material was later projected onto an LED screen where the real pickup truck was also filmed, to generate that image of the Nissan Frontier passing through all the “torii”.

The campaign continues to highlight the strategic pillars of the brand and its products, as it did during 2023 with Nissan Sentra.
