New Ottignies Station: Green Light for Major Project – Updates and Progress

2023-12-21 13:23:39

As the end-of-year holidays approach, SNCB has reason to rejoice. The Walloon Minister of Regional Planning, Willy Borsus, has just slipped under the tree the gift she had been waiting for for more than two years: the permit for the construction of the new Ottignies station. All the lights are green so that this major project can finally move forward.

According to the minister, the permit is accompanied by 47 conditions which were validated by the SNCB. Among these, there is the creation of a support committee, as desired by the Municipal College of Ottignies-Louvain-la-Neuve. Its objective will be to enable dialogue between the different stakeholders linked to this project, including local residents, and to ensure proper monitoring of the site.
