A draft law was submitted to the State Duma, which abolishes the responsibility for the residence of citizens without registration. This is an initiative of the New People faction, transmits May 23, TASS with reference to the first deputy head of the faction, Vice Speaker of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vladislav Davankov.
“For not telling the officials where you live, you can still get a fine of 2,000 rubles. This is complete archaism. In fact, it stretches back to serfdom,” Davankov said.
Now the responsibility “for living at the place of stay or at the place of residence in a residential building without registration and for violation of the rules for registration at the place of stay or place of residence” is established by the Code of Administrative Offenses.
