Rabat hosted this Wednesday new political consultations between Morocco and Israel, says the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The talks between the two sides touched on “trade, investment, tourism, the new regional architecture and the next steps to promote the vision and objectives of the “Negev Summit””, organized on March 27 and 28 in Israel, specifies the same source. The head of the Israeli liaison office in the kingdom, David Govrin announced his attendance at the meeting.

As during the first meeting of this cooperation framework, held in July 2021 in Rabat, the consultations were led by senior diplomats. The Moroccan delegation is led by the Director General of Political Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Fouad Yazourh. On the Israeli side, the mission is chaired by Alon Bar, director general at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

These new talks coincide with the visit to Morocco by the Israeli Minister of the Interior, Ayelet Shaked. She was received in particular by her Moroccan counterpart, Abdelouafi Laftit and the head of diplomacy, Nasser Bourita.
