A significant milestone was achieved on February 19th with the grand opening of the new Saint-Hyacinthe Rehabilitation Center (CRDP). The event brought together staff members, families, employees, and partners, marking a pivotal step forward for both patients and their loved ones.
Enhancing Care and Well-being
The move to these new premises was eagerly anticipated by the dedicated team at CRDP. “We are thrilled with the new space,” shared Marie-Eve Racine,program manager for specialized motor disability and language impairment programs. “This installation offers more private intervention rooms, ample space for diverse activities, dedicated family waiting areas, improved accessibility with elevators and restrooms, and a stunningly shining gymnasium. It’s truly more user-friendly and patient-centered.”
“I want to express how well we are here!” Racine exclaimed. “We offer our customers more suitable premises, tailored to the needs of our users.”
Serving a Community in Need
The CRDP serves approximately 500 users annually from the Montérégie region. this team of 35 individuals provides essential support to individuals aged 7 to 100 years old facing significant challenges related to motor disabilities or language impairments. These conditions can arise from various factors, including strokes, accidents, or brain tumors.
A Holistic Approach to Rehabilitation
Ysabelle Marleau, assistant director of disability programs, emphasized the multifaceted nature of their approach: “Beyond the care and rehabilitation exercises, there is an essential human dimension: learning to live with a new reality. Our teams are not content to intervene on the physical and functional levels; they also support each person in their journey, with kindness and respect. And they are also there to support loved ones, who play a key role in this adaptation.”
